Orange Chocolate Rice Krispie Squares

Ingredients:

200g Gluten Free rice krispies

200g Gluten Free marshmallows

50g milk chocolate

50g butter

2 tsp orange essence

200g milk chocolate

100g gluten free mini eggs

Method:

  1. Melt 50g milk chocolate and the butter in a bain mairie (a bowl over a pan of boiling water, ensuring that the bowl doesn’t touch the water).  Once they are melted, add the marshmallows and 1 tsp orange essence, and stir with a spatula until the marshmallows have melted.

  2. Pour this mixture in a big bowl with the rice Krispies.  Mix until they are fully incorporated.  Put the mixture in a lined 8 inch square tin, spread out and level out (so you have one even layer).

  3. Melt the 200g milk chocolate with the remaining 1 tsp orange essence.  Pour evenly over the rice Krispie layer.  Sprinkle the mini eggs on top and leave to rest for at least an hour in the fridge.
